||The following listing enumerates the major items of work included in this contract but not limited thereto:
. Lining of the existing 37” O.D. steel water main at the intersection of
K Street & North Capitol Street and K Street, NW with Internal Bonded
. Replacement of the existing 37” O.D. steel water main at the
intersection of K Street and 1st Street, NW.
. Installation of a new 36” butterfly valve at the intersection of the K
Street & 1st Street, NE.
. Lining of the existing 37” O.D. steel water main along K Street from
1st Street, NE to 2nd Street, NE.
. Lining of the existing 36” steel water from the intersection of 16th
Street & Arkansas Avenue, NW and to 16th Street & Spring Road, NW.
. Installation of two (2) new 36” butterfly valves: one (1) at the
intersection of 16th Street & Arkansas Avenue, NW and one (1) at the
intersection of 16th Street & Spring Road, NW.
. Installation of new 12” and 8” ductile iron water main and two (2) 12”
gate valves at the intersections of 16th Street & Arkansas Avenue, NW
and 16th Street & Spring Road, NW.
. Abandonment and replacement of the existing 12” interconnection between
the existing 37” O.D. steel water main and the existing 24” water main
at the intersection of K Street, NW and 1st Street, NE.
. Installation of cathodic protection on the existing 37” O.D. water main
and all replacement 36” water main from the intersection of K Street &
1st Street, NW to the intersection of K Street & 1st Street, NE.
Installation of cathodic protection on all new ductile iron pipe
installed as a result of access pit excavation for lining operations.
. Removal of the existing lead paint and repainting of the existing 36”
steel pipe suspended from the 16th Street Bridge.
This project may be funded in part by the U. S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). A Fair Share Objective for Minority and Women’s Business Enterprises participation in this work of 32% and 6%, respectively, has been established. The program requirements are fully defined in USEPA’s Participation by Disadvantaged Enterprises in Procurement under EPA Financial Assistant Agreements – May 27, 2008”.
The Davis-Bacon wage determinations shall apply.
DC Water Owner Controlled Insurance Program will provide insurance.
Bid documents are available at the Department of Procurement, 5000 Overlook Avenue, SW, Washington, D.C. 20032. Sets of Bidding Documents can be procured for a non-refundable $50 purchase price each, payable to DC Water. Payment must be in the form of a money order, certified check or a company check. Documents can be shipped to Bidders providing a Federal Express account number.
The DC Water Blue Plains Advanced Wastewater Treatment Plant is a secured facility. Persons intending to pick-up Bidding Documents are to contact the Department of Procurement at 202 787 2020 for access authorization.
