The Authority intends to pre-select vertical turbine pumps, motors, variable frequency drives (VFDs), accessories, and other named services through a single Pump Manufacturer for use in the Reclaimed Final Effluent Pump Station at Blue Plains Advanced Wastewater Treatment Plant in Washington, D.C.
A total of six vertical turbine pumps, six motors and six VFDs will be purchased. Each of the three Low Pressure units is rated to operate at a design flow of 7,500 gallons per minute at 69 feet of head. Each of the three High Pressure units is rated to operate at a design flow of 7,500 gallons per minute at 260 feet of head.
The District of Columbia Water and Sewer Authority requests that interested Pump Manufacturers submit proposals to be used in evaluation and pre-selection of the vertical turbine pumps, motors, and VFDs.
Manufacturers shall submit a proposal with all equipment and services, including an alternate choice of
VFD, as best suited by the manufacturer’s business and expertise.
The Authority will not purchase the selected vertical turbine pumps, motors, and VFDs directly but will require the general contractor for the Reclaimed Final Effluent Systems (RFEPS) Upgrades construction project to procure the equipment from the selected Pump Manufacturer.
July 24, 2019 is the date scheduled for the receipt of Proposals.
This project may be funded in part by the U. S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). The program requirements are fully defined in USEPA’s “Participation by Disadvantaged Enterprises in Procurement under EPA Financial Assistant Agreements – May 27, 2008.”
