WATER AND SEWER AUTHORITY REQUEST FOR BIDS INVITATION FOR BID NUMBER: 050040 ANACOSTIA COMBINED SEWER SEPARATION The following listing enumerates the major items of work included in this contract for the Anacostia Combined Sewer Separation, Washington, D.C.: • 230 linear feet of 10 to 30-inch diameter sewer pipe. • 1,700 linear feet of 15 to 24-inch diameter storm sewer pipe. • 3,350 linear feet of 6 to 12-inch diameter water main pipe. • Replacing a maximum of 4,800 linear feet of lead water service pipe in both public and private space. • Separating a maximum of 13,820 linear feet of private roof/area drain pipe in both public and private space. The project requires completion within 760 consecutive calendar days. This project is estimated to cost between $5,000,000 and $10,000,000. BID OPENING DATE IS WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 9, 2008 AT 2:00 P.M. This project is to be funded in part by the U. S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and is to be advertised in the open market. A Fair Share Objective for Minority and Women’s Business Enterprises participation in this work of 32% and 6%, respectively, has been established. The program requirements are fully defined in USEPA’s “Guidance for Utilization of Small, Minority and Women’s Business Enterprises in Procurement Under Assistance Agreements –6010, 1997 Edition”. The Davis-Bacon wage determinations shall apply. DCWASA Owner Controlled Insurance Program will provide insurance. Bid Documents will be available Monday, December 10, 2007 between 9:00 A. M. to 4:00 P.M. at the Department of Procurement, 5000 Overlook Avenue, SW, Washington, DC 20032. Sets of Bidding Documents can be procured for a non-refundable $50 purchase price each, payable to DC Water and Sewer Authority. Payment must be in the form of a money order, certified check or a company check. Documents can be shipped to Bidders providing a Federal Express account number. The DC WASA Blue Plains Advanced Wastewater Treatment Plant is a secured facility.
